Art & Beyond Gallery proudly announces its upcoming exhibition, Reshaping Reality: Distortion through the Eyes of Modern Maestros, a groundbreaking display of modern Indian art that embraces the transformative power of distortion. Opening on 14th November 2024 at Art Mumbai. This exhibition offers an immersive exploration into how Indian artists are reshaping the boundaries of traditional representation.
Through the works of iconic artists such as F. N. Souza, M. F. Husain, Krishen Khanna, Madhvi Parekh, and more, Reshaping Reality delves into the tension between reality and illusion in an era where certainty feels elusive. Each artist brings a unique perspective, using distortion as a tool to evoke profound emotional responses and challenge the viewer’s perception of identity, society, and memory. Elongated figures, warped landscapes, and vibrant, abstracted forms become vehicles for deeper truths, pushing the viewer to look beyond the surface.
“The theme of distortion speaks directly to the times we inhabit, where the boundaries between what is real and imagined grow increasingly blurred,” says Saanya Anand, Curator of Reshaping Reality. “Each piece in this collection serves as both an artistic expression and a philosophical meditation on the fractured nature of modern life. The exhibition invites visitors to confront these distortions head-on, urging them to engage with the world’s tangled complexities in new and profound ways.”
