Niren Sen Gupta Indian, b. 1940

Niren Sengupta was born in January 1940 in Bengal. He graduated in science from the Calcutta University and in Arts from  Government College of Art & Crafts, Calcutta. His works are aesthetic expressions of his inner reflections infused with serenity, sacrifice, service and beauty. For him, art is an expression of inner language and a form of communion. He finds lasting beauty in the serenity of total surrender of the monks of Ramakrishna Mission; a mission that signifies sacrifices and service to mankind. 

Niren Sen Gupta has taught for over 30 years at graduate & post-graduate levels in various art institutions. He is also a founding member of 'Gallery 26' in Kolkata, along with being a member of Calcutta painters and Executive member of Academy of Visual Media, New Delhi.

 

He has been awarded many esteemed awards like AIFACS Award and NBT Award in New Delhi; Award for Humanity Udayan Care; DSCWOS. Guptas' works can be found at known galleries like Lalit Kala Akademi. A professional painter and teacher, Niren Sengupta is the Ex-Principal of College of Art, New Delhi.
